### [Read the passage.](https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Lk1.39-45)
After receiving world-changing news, Mary takes up the offer of a sign and goes
to see her relative. I've just realized it probably took several days, if not
longer to get there. Nazareth is in Galilee, but Elizabeth lived in the hill
country of Judah. If that is the same as the Roman province of Judea, or even
the traditional lands of the tribe of Judah, that'd be a long hike, especially
with the tradition of avoiding going through Samaria at the time.
When Mary gets there, Elizabeth gets a revelation that Mary will be the mother
of the Messiah and pronounces blessings upon her.
