### [Read the passage.](https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Lk8.1-3)
Luke reveals something radical about Jesus's ministry in these few verses: He
accepted women as disciples. They followed Him, sat under His teaching, and
helped fund everyone's travels. This was compeletly unheard of at this time. At
the time, women were definitely treated as second-class people. Rabbis refused
to teach women, they weren't allowed as valid witnesses in court, and generally
had fewer rights. Jesus didn't treat them that way though.
Some people point to particular parts of the Bible and say it is anti-woman,
but more than any other ancient book it affirms the positive role of women in
the world and affords more protections to them if people follow its teachings.

so that we may know the complete truth.
