| ### [Read the passage.](https://biblia.com/bible/esv/Lk1.39-45)
 | ||
|
 | ||
| After receiving world-changing news, Mary takes up the offer of a sign and goes
 | ||
| to see her relative. I've just realized it probably took several days, if not
 | ||
| longer to get there. Nazareth is in Galilee, but Elizabeth lived in the hill
 | ||
| country of Judah. If that is the same as the Roman province of Judea, or even
 | ||
| the traditional lands of the tribe of Judah, that'd be a long hike, especially
 | ||
| with the tradition of avoiding going through Samaria at the time.
 | ||
|
 | ||
| When Mary gets there, Elizabeth gets a revelation that Mary will be the mother
 | ||
| of the Messiah and pronounces blessings upon her.

| Let us believe what You have spoken to us, so that we may be blessed and You
 | ||
| will be glorified.
